Ottawa - Arts-Is-In bakery, The Manx and Fraser Café are locals' favourite brunch spots. Another favourite is Stoneface Dolly's, conveniently located on Preston St. Like many of these brunch spots, it is on a first-come-first-serve. Despite being a relatively large restaurant, you might have to wait in line if you don't arrive early.

Stoneface Dolly's serves both traditional homestyle breakfast and innovative take on classics. I had the California Egg Benedict served on their signature molasse bread. It comes with an avocado salsa, smoked bacon with a pan-fried potato mash. To point the negatives, the avocado was almost non-existent, about a teaspoon of avocado underneath each egg. The size of the egg is quite small. On a positive note, the hollandaise sauce has good flavour and consistency, and eggs well poached. The potato mash is well-seasoned with a crispy flavourful exterior. The molasse bread has a rich sweet taste that is enjoyable to eat on its own. My friend stuck with a less aventurous meal which consists of 3 eggs, ham, sausage and peameal bacon.

This place is well suited for everyone, Being to many restaurants in Montreal and Ottawa, I have not seen a bobotie on a menu. It is a South-African curry that I'm willing to try on my next visit.
